Prep Work

Pop -
Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For

The majority of pop music videos have choreography and lip syncing, but this video has mainly lip syncing.
The editing pace is fast
Voyeurism
One of the artists, Rihanna is wearing make up , most female artists wear a lot of make up in their music videos
Party atmosphere with the crowds partying and dancing.
In the parties there would be alcohol again connoting a fun atmosphere.
The lyrics are usually on the good things on life this is shown through the mis-en-scene.
The tone of the song is upbeat and sometimes fast

RnB/Hip-Hop -
The Weeknd - The Hills

Voyeurism
In RnB videos, the artist's costumes always have low jeans, trainers, tracksuit, highly visible designer labels. A ‘ghetto’ ‘thug’ ‘street’ look.
Males always portray themselves as masculine and more dominant.
They are similar to pop music videos because they have lip syncing
Normally have dancers, choreography but this video doesnt

Indie
Florence + The Machine - You've Got The Love

Voyeurism
Bright and dark lightings
Most indie videos focus on mainly the artist or the band performing the music.
The editing techniques are usually used in relation to the speed of the music so if it was slow, it would have a pace and if it was fast it would have a fast pace
Indie artists are generally dressed quite casual, not like RnB and pop artists.

Rock/Heavy Metal -
Sucker for Pain - Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, & Imagine Dragons

Most rock music videos and songs are fast, but this one is quite slow which means the editing is quite slow paced to match the tempo
There is lip syncing
The music video has scenes from the film Suicide Squad
Music video is dark, because of the genre
Is also high budget
